Iberia attends more than 800,000 unaccompanied minors every year |
LONDON - Iberia attends more than 800,000 unaccompanied minors every year. The service is for passengers between 5 and 17 years of age, and may be requested from the Serviberia call centre (902 400 500) or the travel agent when the ticket is acquired. Under the Ágora project for improving the airline’s T4 hub in Madrid-Barajas, a new room has been dedicated to children in transit. Customers between 2 and 11 can join the Iberia Plus Kids loyalty programme. En 2012, Iberia attended more than 800,000 minors aged between 5 and 17 who travelled alone, accompanying them throughout the trip, from pickup at the airport of origin to handover to authorised adults at the destination.
The unaccompanied minor (UM) service should be requested when the ticket is purchased from Serviberia (902 400 500), travel agents, or the Iberia website.
This service is provided on point-to-point and connecting flights on all Iberia Group airlines (Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum).
For connections made at Madrid-Barajas airport, Iberia boasts a new 160 sq. mts. Lounge in T4, near the main departure lounge, equipped for children with television, tables for having snacks or playing, and even a quiet zone for stretching out on reclining chairs to rest. The special lounge is a part of Iberia’s Ágora project, a programme to improve all customers’ travel experience at the airline’s T4 hub.
